Alan Walker, Audien, BONNIE X CLYDE and more will throw down at The Midway for the return of the beloved IllUM Block Party.

In a city known for innovating everything from sourdough to smartphones, San Francisco's IllUM Block Party is once again poised to disrupt the city's Independence Day celebrations with its return to The Midway on July 5th.

The event, whose name cleverly abbreviates "Illuminate," promises to deliver what many in the Bay Area crave as much as a rent-controlled apartment: a night of euphoric beats and trippy art experiences. Headliner Alan Walker will bring his signature sound to The Midway for a massive headline performance, topping a lineup that also features electronic music stars Audien and BONNIE X CLYDE.

Beyond the beats, IllUM transforms The Midway into an interactive wonderland that would make even jaded tech workers look up from their screens. The festival's light installations and "unexpected moments of magic" offer an alternative to the traditional fireworks displays frequently obscured by Karl the Fog.

In a metropolis where connections are often mediated through apps, IllUM offers something increasingly rare in SF: authentic human connection through shared experience. As the event's organizers put it, you'll "step into the light, and emerge brighter."
