DJ Collapses Onto Decks at Berghain, But Rallies to Finish Performance

Danish DJ and producer Kasper Marott collapsed mid-performance at the legendary Berlin nightclub but managed to recover and finish his set.

At Berlin's legendary Berghain, where the music is relentless and the energy unyielding, even a moment of stillness feels surreal. That rare silence came last weekend when Danish DJ and producer Kasper Marott fainted mid-performance, falling onto the mixer and briefly bringing one of the world’s most revered dancefloors to a halt.

Marott was in the midst of delivering a high-intensity set at Berghain when he suddenly collapsed behind the venue's DJ decks. The incident momentarily stunned the crowd, a rare pause in the club’s famously endless techno marathon.

"I caused quite a scene by fainting and falling onto the mixer during my set at Berghain, which brought the music to a sudden stop," Marott wrote in a social media post, reassuring fans that he had recovered. "I walked away with a new scar, but thankfully, I’m feeling better today."

Housed in a towering former power plant in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district, Berghain has long held a mythical status in club culture. A temple to techno, it has hosted some of the biggest names in the genre, from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann to Sven Väth and Nina Kraviz. With its notoriously selective door policy, no-camera rule and marathon DJ sets, the club fosters an atmosphere where time dissolves—until, of course, something unexpected forces a break in the rhythm.

Despite the scare, the night wasn’t over for Marott. "Huge thanks to the incredible staff for handling everything so professionally, helping me get back on my feet to finish what I started," added.
