Millions of people will be tracking this one flight to Brisbane

The inaugural Flight AA7 will make its historic takeoff from the Texas airport on Monday and is now the longest flight by distance in the American Airlines network.

An American Airlines flight heading from Dallas-Fort Worth in the US to Brisbane is expected to be among the most tracked planes in the world.

The inaugural Flight AA7 will make its historic takeoff from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas tomorrow and will be the longest flight by distance in the American Airlines network.

It will also be the longest non-stop flight heading anywhere to or from Brisbane Airport.

Dallas Fort Worth to Brisbane flight American Airlines

The flight departs Dallas Fort Worth around 10pm local time and is set to reach Brisbane at about 6.30am AEST on Monday.

Flight time averages around 15 hours from gate to gate.

Brisbane Airport's Media and Corporate Communications Manager Peter Doherty told Weekend Today that flight enthusiasts around the globe would be closely monitoring Flight AA7's route on the popular app FlightRadar24.

"FlightRadar is expecting it to be the top-tracked aircraft in the world tomorrow," Doherty said.

"When flight AA7 heads from Dallas Fort Worth this afternoon into Brisbane tomorrow, millions of people will be tracking that flight."

American Airlines flight

Brisbane Airport will live-stream the landing of the Boeing 787-9 live using a runway camera.

"We expect this to be one of the most tracked flights on Flightradar24, with people around the world tuning in to follow the aircraft's progress from Dallas-Fort Worth to Brisbane, especially keen to watch the livestream of the landing," said Ian Petchenik, Director of Communications, Flightradar24. 

"With considerable international route growth this year, Brisbane's popularity amongst aviation enthusiasts has climbed as well."

Dallas Fort Worth to Brisbane flight American Airlines

The only other American carrier to fly between Brisbane and the US is United Airlines, which flies passengers to San Francisco and Los Angeles.

It marks an important travel link between Queensland and the US and American Airlines is encouraging its local customers to visit Brisbane.

"The flight that touches down tomorrow is already, we know, 80 per cent full," Doherty added.

The Brisbane-Dallas Fort Worth service will operate daily during the seasonal service.
